Is stretchfilm recyclable?
Yes LLDPE is 100% recyclable through various companies who specialise in Plastic film recycling.
How do I reduce my wrapping costs?
The true cost of wrapping a pallet is the price per pallet wrapped not price per tonne or kilo. By making sure the machine is set up to apply the correct stretch wrap cycle for your pallet and using the correct film, this will produce stable and secure pallets at the lowest possible cost.
How do I reduce the time it takes to wrap a pallet?
The time taken to wrap 1 pallet is governed by using the right film and correct wrap pattern to minimise the amount of cycles whilst also producing stable and secure pallets.
I am having stability problems in transit, how do I stop this?
Stability issues are common in the industry and will add costs through rejected products and re-works of loads. To avoid this and also protect your company's image, applying the correct film in the right places on the pallet will avoid such problems. The correct way to wrap your pallet is an individual thing and we believe that time spent on getting this right is time well spent.
Can I upgrade my machines performance?
Most machines will allow changes to stretch / tension and wrap patterns. By tailoring these settings to your needs most machines can perform more effectively.
How can multi layer films improve my pallets?
Multi layer films have given film manufacturers the ability to produce films with specific qualities. For example, films that once wrapped will ‘lock out’ and not crush the load, also higher puncture resistance films for awkward sharp corners. By controlling closely the attributes of the film we can offer a more individual solution to your issues.
What is pre stretch?
Pre stretch is the actual stretching carried out by the machine between rollers turning at different speeds before it is applied to the pallet. This pre stretch utilises the film to its optimum. In general High quality stretchfilms perform better the further they are stretched. This also reduces the amount of film used and hence reduces the cost.
What can you measure?
There are 3 things that are very important.
1. The stretch we have applied to the film measured on the pallet through the whole wrap cycle.
2. The load holding force which determines the stability of the pallet and also controls the possibility of corner crush.
3. The weight of the film in grammes applied to the pallet which is the actual cost of the operation.
What is tension?
Tension is the amount of stretch that is applied to the film between the end of the film carriage and the load. It is important to get this stretch correct because if it is too high you will cause crushing at the corners of the load or if it is too low the stability of the pallet will be reduced. Also combined with the pre stretch settings this the correct way to produce stable but undamaged pallets.
What does Core Brake Machine mean?
This type of machine is typically semi Automatic and uses a simple brake on the core of the film roll as it runs. The stretch imparted on the film is gained by using the corner of the pallet and the brake on the core of the roll.
What is a PPS machine?
PPS stands for power pre stretch and this type of machine stretches the film between a serial of rollers before applying to the pallet
